For one of the most modern warehouses we, Decathlon, are looking for a new area leader (Logistics Operations Manager). We are a young and entrepreneurial team, where we need experienced leadership and a clear vision for a sustainable growth of our organisation and our logistics.

Our new automated distribution center in Tilburg is open since 2021 and we supply all our 21 stores. Additionally, customers from the Netherlands, Belgium, parts from France, Germany and even Ireland also receive their orders through our warehouse. In addition to the 300 employees, there are also at least as many robots on the road, making this Decathlon's most modern distribution center ever. Decathlon's mission is to make sport accessible to everyone in a sustainable way.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The first months you will going through an onboarding phase, where you will get to know our team & our warehouse & logistics processes. That means all of our areas and including departments. In addition you will receive guidance and can follow certain trainings for the operations and our tools.

In the 3rd month you will be responsibile for an improvement project for one of our 3 'pillars' (people, planet or profit). Ater this period you will be an Area leader at our warehouse with 2 main responsibilities

1) Team management

You will be responsible for a team of 2 - 6 team leaders (with each their own department). Who have to capable of delivering the products on time and in a qualitative way to ensure that our customers get the best experience possible from our supply chain. Within these responsibilities include human, safety, salary, recruitment and process KPIs. You will further:

• Recruit a team (of team leaders). You will make sure you have a balanced team of junior, medior and senior team leaders.

• Build and motivate the team at the service of our customers and stores and piloting

• Develop your team members and their ability to work independently

• Guarantee the safety of persons and property, you guarantee a safe work environment

2) Project Management

• You are responsible for the (mechanization) maintenance and the lean improvements of the area

• You will guarantee the sustainable growth of your logistics area

• You use the tools at my disposal to give relative and qualitative reports

• You will be animating and analyse economic KPIs

• Leading certain B2C and/or B2B projects

• Make sure our logistics processes will be optimalised and efficient

What do we ask from you?

You are a logistics professional, who fits in our sporty team. You have already experience in logistics processes and leading teams within logistics. Furthermore we ask:

• Passion for sports!

• HBO / WO work and thinking level

• Proficient level in English spoken and written

• Experience in managing employees

• A natural leader and team player who likes to invest in the development of others

• Dynamic; you are challenge-oriented and not afraid to take risks to achieve the result

• You are familiar with working with daily, weekly, monthly and yearly forecasting
